JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Material Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of materialrelated financial data, including AP booking, costing, inventory movement, and reporting. This role plays a key part in optimizing reporting processes using Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini), advanced Excel tools (Power Query, VBA), supporting audits, and collaborating across departments to maintain financial integrity
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Material Costing & Analysis
• Monitor and validate approved material prices vs. vendor invoices and system standards.
• Analyze Purchase Price Variance (PPV), Material Usage Variance (MUV), and actual vs. standard cost.
• Prepare monthly cost roll-up reports and COGS analysis
. • Support material price forecasting and sourcing cost-saving reviews.
2. Inventory Management
• Track inventory movement and ensure accurate system transactions.
• Prepare daily, monthly, yearly inventory movement reports and variance analysis.
• Lead year-end stock take planning and consolidation.
• Convert inventory valuation from standard to actual cost for customs liquidation.
3. Accounts Payable & Reconciliation
• Oversee three-way matching (PO, invoice, GRN) for raw material purchases.
• Ensure timely and accurate AP booking and reconciliation.
• Support monthly VAT reporting and external audits.
4. Reporting Optimization
• Develop and maintain automated reports using Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini), Power Query, VBA, and advanced Excel.
• Streamline reporting workflows to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Purchasing, Production, and Customs teams to ensure data consistency.
